AI For Builders

One-liner
Learn to build with AI; to create web apps, mobile apps, product features, etc. as a nontechnical person, by collaborating with AI coding agents like Claude Code.
TLDR
- Fully remote, instructor-led
- 5 weeks
- ~1-2 hours daily
- 60% async (reading, watching, building) + 40% live (lectures, discussions, office hours)
- Tue-Thu-Fri 9 am PT live calls
- $4,000 per person, with a 20% discount if your bring somebody along
- Next group: August 24-September 25
What this course is all about
For about ~70 years, since computers came out, it used to be the case that you needed to learn special languages — programming languages — to make computers do what you wanted them to do, to build software.
This is not the case anymore. Since ~mid-2025, you can build pretty complex software without knowing how to code, by directing an AI coding agent in English to write the code for you. Andrej Karpathy (unintentionally) named this vibe coding in his famous tweet.
What vibe coders didn’t know (and quickly & painfully learned) is that coding is only a tip of the iceberg of programming. Apart from writing code, one has to know the basics of engineering — things like how the web generally works, what Git and databases are, etc. — in order to build stuff that really works, and course-correct AI agents when they get stuck.
This is what this course is all about. We believe a lot more nontechnical people could build software these days, and what they need to know to do this is two things: 1) the basics of engineering, and 2) how to work with AI coding agents like Claude Code or Codex. This course teaches both, and does so in the best way possible remotely — read on to discover how.
How this course works
Our mission at AI Study Camp is to deliver exceptional-quality education, one that would help you really learn and not just create an illusion of learning covered up by a fancy certificate.
This is why this course:
- Is delivered over 5 weeks, and not 5h or 5 days
- Requires ~1-2h a day of active work from your side
- Is delivered mostly live and not pre-recorded
- Is delivered in mini-groups of 5-8 ppl and not giant cohorts — you get to know everybody, build meaningful connections, have enough time for discussions and interesting tangents, etc.
- Equips you with a simple learning method we created that you can apply to everything else you will be learning in life (watch this review from our student Matthew Busel for more on this)
What do you get on the other side?
- You will learn to build software as a nontechnical person. Any kind of software: websites, mobile apps, AI agents, internal tools, company workflows — you name it. Even pretty advanced stuff — check out what previous students have built below.
- Specifically, you will learn the basics of engineering and how to work with AI coding agents (Claude Code): from folder structure to subagents to skills to loops & goals — the whole shebang.
- You will build lots of stuff. Course projects, sure, (todo apps, websites, etc.), but also your personal projects you’ve been putting off for months/years. You’ll build lots of stuff for work too if you like.
- You will understand modern AI (LLMs) on a pretty deep level — what these models are, how they are trained, and their capabilities & limitations.
- You will learn how to learn and build a daily learning habit. If you stick with it (and our instructor Ben will help you persevere through the struggle!), by the end of week 5 daily learning will be a habit, something you do effortlessly — which will pay off tenfold in the years to come.
- Finally, you will fall in love with learning again. Many students reported this as their most unexpected outcomes; see some reviews below on this.

Syllabus, logistics, and other boring but essential info
Here’s how your five weeks will look like:
Check out full syllabus here!
Logistics:
- Format: fully remote, in a small group (6-8ppl) led by an instructor
- Duration: 5 weeks, from Monday August 24 to Friday September 25
- Time commitment: ~5-6h a week, quite intense — but that’s the only way to really learn!
- Schedule: live calls on Tue-Thu-Fri at 9 am PST/5pm BST, instructor 1-1s whenever convenient for your team
Note: you really need to allocate at least 1h per day to the course, otherwise it won’t work. As we like saying, “1h a day or stuff fades away.” Andrej Karpathy explains why in this twitter thread.
